Meet the Person Behind Geronimo Consulting


Jerry Diaz is the Founder and CEO of Geronimo Consulting.

He is a seasoned professional who’s worked in all three sectors with a heavy emphasis in the nonprofit arena for over 26 years. An accomplished results-driven leader that works well alone or in group settings to achieve and exceed goals. This includes mentoring and coaching others to success.

Geronimo Consulting specialties include management, fundraising, human resources, strategic planning, volunteer management, staff development, coaching, business strategy, financial management, public speaking, and operations.

Prior to Geronimo Consulting, Jerry was the Chief Development and Marketing Officer at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central and Northern Arizona for almost seven years. He’s also served at Vice President, Organizational Relations, for Learning Ally for three years, and spent over 15 years in multiple roles, leaving as a Regional Director, at the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Jerry is a native Phoenician and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies from Arizona State University. In 2014 he obtained a CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) designation. Jerry is currently a member of the Cancer Support Community Arizona board and has previously served as Diversity Chair of the Association of Fundraising Professional Greater Arizona Chapter, and on the board of ASU Devils’ Pride. He was the 2019 Association of Fundraising Professionals Outstanding Fundraising Executive. He is also a member of Valley Leadership Institute, Class 39.

Jerry lives in Tempe with his partner, Jon, and their two pups.
